Kela offices responsible for handling applications
Incoming applications and supporting documents are scanned and forwarded electronically to whichever Kela office will handle the processing of the application Only applications for reimbursements of medical care expenses are still handled in paper form.
The application you submit to your local Kela office may be decided by an office elsewhere in Finland.
If you wish to supplement your application, you can mail or drop off the additional materials at any Kela office. They are scanned and linked electronically with your application. To find out the contact information of Kela offices, use customer service locator.
You can check the status of your applications online. Received applications appear online after registration. The online customer service is so far available only in Finnish and Swedish.
