Notification of changes

Anyone receiving benefits from Kela must notify Kela without delay if their circumstances change. This includes changes in income, family composition or marital status.

If you receive Labour Market Subsidy, you must notify Kela of

  • your earned income (attach documentation showing the amount of wages)
  • your income from interest and dividends (attach documentation)
  • changes in your marital status
  • the birth of a child.

The decision you receive from Kela lists the changes that must be notified. If you fail to notify a relevant change, you may not receive a certain benefit or may receive too much, in which case you will have to pay back any overpayment.
