2010 edition of Kela's Statistical Yearbook now available online

The Statistical Yearbook contains comprehensive statistics on the social security benefits provided by Kela in 2010 in combination with long time series.

Last year the share of sickness allowances in all health insurance compensations was 23%. The parental allowance of mothers was on average €55.90 per day and that of fathers €77.40. Per capita, the largest amounts of pension benefits from Kela were paid in the region of Etelä-Savo and the smallest in the region of Uusimaa. At year-end, there were 4,591 persons in Finland who were entitled to interpreter services for the disabled.

These, and many other, data are included in the most recent Statistical Yearbook, which is already available online in PDF format. The printed yearbook will be published in November.

Kela's Statistical Yearbook offers a wide range of statistical information on the social security benefits provided by Kela: e.g. health insurance, pension and disability benefits, rehabilitation, unemployment benefits, housing allowances, family benefits and benefits for students.

The latest 2010 data are combined with long time series. The yearbook comprises approximately 240 tables and charts, containing data in Finnish, Swedish and English. The extensive text part provides information about the contents of the benefits and the eligibility criteria. Comparative data on social security benefits provided by other organizations are also included.

The extensive appendix provides information on all the central legislative changes since 1990 which have affected the benefits.
