Kela.fi website updated with new information on housing benefits
The updated pages provide easily available answers to questions about housing benefits.
The redesigned pages have been published in Finnish, Swedish and English. The contents and structure of the pages have been modified on the basis of customer feedback so that the pages are simple and clear. On the first page there are also shortcuts to information that customers often look for.
The update also took into account that, starting from 1 August, students will also be covered by the general housing allowance scheme.
Previously the web pages for instance about unemployment benefits, rehabilitation and benefits for pension recipients have been updated. The section on housing benefits is the tenth major addition made to kela.fi after the concept of the website was redefined.
New quick guide
The updated pages now also include quick guides, which have received very positive feedback from the customers. The quick guide on housing benefits provides concise information on the types of benefits available from Kela as assistance with housing costs in different situations. Kela pays general housing allowance, housing allowance for pensioners and housing assistance for conscripts.
With the quick guide you can easily get an overview of housing benefits available and it also guides the customer through the benefit application process: who does what at which stage, the customer or Kela.
