Meal subsidy for students increased by €0.07 on 1 January 2012

The amount of the meal subsidy will be increased by €0.07. From the beginning of 2012 the amount of the subsidy will be €1.84 per meal.

The meal subsidy is paid to the student cafeterias. The student pays a price reduced by the meal subsidy for his or her lunch, amounting to €2.43 after the increase. The student price for special meals is €3.48-4.68.

Parliament decided on the increase to the meal subsidy when approving the state budget for 2012.
