Amount

The copayment for a one-way trip is EUR 14.25. Kela reimburses the costs exceeding the copayment. If the copayments amount to EUR 242.25 within a calendar year, any exceeding costs are reimbursed in full.

Kela tracks your annual out-of-pocket travel costs. Once you reach the maximum limit of EUR 157.25 you will receive a card stating that you have reached the out-of-pocket maximum. By presenting the card to the driver, you can travel free of charge if the transport provider has a contract with Kela. If you have to pay for the trip, you can claim reimbursement from Kela afterwards.
