Initial pension

Kela pays you initial pension EUR 324.93 per month. The pension may be smaller, if your spouse lived or worked abroad.

Continuing pension

After the initial pension, you may be eligible for a continuing pension consisting of a basic amount and a means-tested supplement. If you have a dependent child under 18 of your own or the deceased, the continuing pension will include at least the basic amount which is EUR 101.78 per month. Depending on your income, you may be eligible also for the means-tested supplement. If your spouse lived or worked abroad, the basic amount and the supplement may be paid at a reduced rate.

Taxation

Spouse's Pension is subject to tax but if you are on a low income, you do not have to pay taxes.
