Financial flows in social and health services
The total expenditure on local social and health services is visualised in the form of a "money tree". It shows how the expenditures were divided between municipalities, Kela and service users in 2016. The data can be analysed either by reference to specific municipalities, regions or categories of expenditure, or on the level of individual residents.
The study draws on a unique set of data which covers
- expenditures by municipalities on social and health services
- National Health Insurance reimbursement expenditures
- user fees and cost-sharing payments by clients
- contributions from employers and self-employed persons.
The data were last updated in December 2017.
