Rehabilitation courses and adaptation training courses for persons suffering from heart disease

Kela offers rehabilitation courses for adults with heart disease and family courses for families with children diagnosed with a heart disease.

The cardiac rehabilitation course for adults provides life management support and advice on how to come to terms with the challenges caused by the illness as well as help with practical problems. A requirement for participating in the course is that you are motivated to take part in group-based rehabilitation.

The family course for children is intended for children under school age and for children in primary school and lower secondary school and their families. At the course, the child and his or her family are provided with support to manage problems in their daily life and help to sort out their situation. The aim of rehabilitation is to promote functional capacity, life management and self-care skills.  At the course, the family is also provided with information about the condition from which the child is suffering and about rehabilitation practices and support networks available in their area.
