Effect of inflation and higher electricity costs on Kela benefits
Kela benefits are scheduled to go up soon. The higher rates of benefit are designed to shore up benefit recipients’ purchasing power in the face of the rising cost of living. The Government has also proposed raising benefits in 2023. This proposal has not yet been approved by Parliament.
We will collect information about upcoming inflation-related changes to Kela benefits on this page. The page will be updated as the Government’s proposals proceed through Parliament. Final information on the proposed changes will be posted on our website and made available through our customer service once they have been approved by Parliament.
