Scammer impersonating a Kela staff member seeking personal information
There has been an incident where a person received a call purposedly from Kela but from a number not used by Kela. This is a scam seeking personal information. Phone calls from Kela to individual customers typically come from one of two numbers: 020 692 219 or 020 634 1611.
Kela has learned of an incident where a person received a call from someone impersonating a Kela staff member. The caller claimed that they needed access to the call recipient's bank account details. The call came from a number which is not used by Kela.
Phone calls from Kela to individual customers typically come from one of two numbers: 020 692 219 or 020 634 1611. Customers with pending benefit-related matters should store these numbers on their phone. Calls in Swedish or English will usually also come from one of these numbers.
Kela staff members will never ask for a customer’s user ID, password or other log-in credentials.
If you get a call from a person impersonating a Kela staff member, do as follows:
- End the call and do not reveal any information about yourself to the caller
- Notify the police
- Notify your bank if you provided information to the caller that could enable them to access your bank account

Kela has filed a police report and is investigating the matter together with other authorities.
