Booking an appointment online
You can book an appointment for a visit to the local Kela office or schedule a phone consultation. It is a good idea to book an appointment if your circumstances change and you need help with applying for Kela benefits and cannot find the information you need on our Web pages, for instance.
If you are acting on someone else's behalf, you should use the personal details of the person you are representing to schedule an appointment. When you arrive at the appointment, please make sure you have a power of attorney from the person you are representing.

If you have a Finnish personal identity code and a phone number where you can receive calls, you can use our online booking system to schedule an appointment with a Kela office or call centre.Book an appointment
When making an appointment through our online booking system, you must have a valid phone number and a Finnish personal identity code. If you do not have either or both of them, you can book an appointment by calling the customer service number that corresponds to your situation.
Kela books an interpreter separately in situations where the client needs an interpreter when contacting Kela. If you in connection with the booking of an appointment state that you need an interpreter, we may need to change your appointment if an interpreter is not available for the time you have booked. In that case, we will contact you. Often it is, for instance, not possible to find an interpreter for appointments scheduled for the following week. If you need an interpreter, please note already when booking an appointment that it may be worthwhile to schedule the appointment preferably at least one week ahead.
How to proceed when it is time for your appointment
If you schedule a phone consultation, Kela's customer service advisor will call you at the agreed time. Any telephone calls from Kela to you show up as originating from an unknown number.
Please make sure you have at hand all documents that might help speed up your service. If you visit a Kela office personally, please bring ID (driving licence, Kela photocard or passport).
When you book an appointment, you receive a reference code that you can use to cancel your appointment.
If you do not have the reference code with you, you can cancel your appointment by calling the customer service number corresponding to your situation.
