New dispatch numbers for Kela taxis as of January 2027
The dispatch numbers for Kela taxis will change on 1 January 2027. Check the new numbers for your region and write them down. If you use a familiar taxi driver, ask if they can continue driving you in 2027 before the year is over. Some of the dedicated numbers for text message bookings will also change in the new year.
All dispatch centre numbers for Kela taxis will change at the beginning of 2027. This also applies in regions where the same service providers will continue to provide Kela taxi services in the new year. The change applies to all of Finland with the exception of the Åland Islands.
Check the new dispatch numbers and write them down
You can find the new dispatch numbers for 2027 below for each region. Check the dispatch centre numbers for the region where your trip starts. You can book your Kela taxi through either of the 2 service providers in that region.
Save the new dispatch numbers to your phone or write them down in a place where you can easily find them. If a trusted person helps you with booking your taxi trips, remember to tell them about the new numbers.
Book taxi trips you make in 2026 by calling the current dispatch numbers. Use the new numbers for trips you want to book in 2027. You can start booking trips for January 2027 by calling the new dispatch numbers starting from 21 december 2026.

Do you use a familiar taxi driver? Check how the change will affect you
If Kela has granted you the right to a familiar taxi driver (vakiotaksi), contact your familiar taxi operator or driver well before the end of the year. Ask them if they can continue providing Kela taxi services to you in 2027.
Drivers who drive a Kela taxi must belong under a service provider that has signed a contract with Kela. That is why your familiar taxi driver may not be able to continue as your familiar driver in 2027.
If your current familiar taxi driver cannot continue, please contact either of the 2 service providers for your region in 2027. The service providers will publish instructions on their websites on how to get a new familiar taxi driver.

Do you book your Kela taxis by text message? Check the numbers for your region
If you have a hearing or speech impairment, you can book Kela taxi trips by text message.
Some of the dedicated numbers for text message bookings will change in 2027. Check the numbers for text message bookings that apply in your region in 2027 even if the service provider stays the same. If the booking number you currently use changes in 2027, save the new number well before the end of the year.
Before you can book a taxi trip for the first time by text message, you must call the dispatch centre you want to use to book your taxi and give them your information. After that, you can book your taxi trips through that same dispatch centre by sending a text message.

Book your Kela taxi the day before your trip at the latest
You must book your Kela taxi by 14.00 on the day before your trip at the latest. If you suddenly need a taxi, book it through your regional dispatch number for Kela taxis as usual.
Calls to the Kela taxi dispatch numbers are free of charge.
Copayments for taxi trips stay the same
Kela will reimburse you for your taxi trips if you have been granted the right to reimbursement and you book your trips through the regional dispatch numbers for Kela taxis.
You must pay a copayment of up to EUR 25 for each one-way trip. Kela pays the rest of the fare directly to the service provider.
Every copayment you make counts towards your annual out-of-pocket maximum (vuosiomavastuu) of EUR 300 once Kela has processed your trip. Once you have reached your annual out-of-pocket maximum, Kela will tell the dispatch centre about it. After that, you do not have to pay a copayment for any Kela taxi trips you make in the rest of the year.
Why will the dispatch numbers change?
Kela has completed a tendering process for the service providers of Kela-reimbursed taxi trips. Once the new contract period begins on 1 January 2027, all dispatch centre numbers and some of the dedicated numbers for text message bookings will change.
