Mailing addresses

You can send paper applications with attachments to Kela by post at your own expense. 

Send your application and possible attachments to this address:

You can also send applications and supporting documents in our e-service OmaKela. This way your application and supporting documents reach Kela right away. In OmaKela, you can also see if any information or documentations is missing from your application. If you need help with Kela matters online, you can call our telephone service.

Mail from Kela is delivered by Posti and Jakeluyhtiö Suomi. If you receive a letter that is addressed to someone else, for instance the previous occupant, please notify the delivery company of the error.

You are not allowed to open a letter that is not addressed to you.

When you report an error in the mail delivery, please check which delivery company has delivered the letter.

  • Letter delivered by Posti: In the window on the envelope you see a bar code and the text Posti.
  • Letter delivered by Jakeluyhtiö Suomi: In the window on the envelope you see a QR code and the text Jakeluyhtiö Suomi.

If Posti has delivered the letter

Write “jaettu väärin” (delivery error) on the envelope and return it to Posti’s mailbox. Posti will forward it to the correct recipient.

If Jakeluyhtiö Suomi has delivered the letter

Contact the customer service of Jakeluyhtiö Suomi to ask for a return envelope. In the return envelope, you can return the wrongly delivered letter free of charge. See instructions on the website of Jakeluyhtiö Suomi (in Finnish).
