The amounts of child support and child maintenance allowance payments will increase on 1 January 2025 in response to the rise in the cost-of-living index. Persons liable for maintenance must make sure to pay the correct amount of child support.

Starting from March 2025, an additional EUR 38 per month can be accepted under the Kela social assistance scheme as the additional food expenses caused by coeliac disease. This amount will apply to each family member with coeliac disease who is 16 or older.

For persons receiving housing allowance for pensioners, income and assets will have a greater effect in reducing the allowance starting from 1 January 2025. An indexation freeze that was put in place earlier will also be extended. The minimum age limit for rehabilitation subsidy, disability pension, rehabilitation allowances and sickness allowances from Kela will be raised from 16 to 18 years from the beginning of 2025. 17-year-olds who have suspended their compulsory education will no longer be entitled to unemployment benefit. In addition, the maximum age limit for disability allowance for children will be raised to 18 years from the beginning of 2027 and at the same time the minimum age limit for disability allowance for adults and care allowance for pensioners will be changed to 18 years. The changes will not concern persons who already receive these benefits, only persons who apply for these benefits for the first time after the changes have taken effect.

Kela has confirmed the value of the National Pensions Index as of 1 January 2025. An index adjustment of 1,0 per cent will be made as of the beginning of 2025, but only to some benefits. Other upcoming changes to social security may also have an impact on benefits.

Changes will be made to the general housing allowance as of 1 January 2025, reducing the amount of housing allowance for some customers and stopping it altogether for some. The aim of these cuts is to attain savings in public finances.

Kela will stop paying national pensions to recipients in countries other than Finland that apply EU regulations as from 1 February 2025. This change will also have an impact on which country is responsible for the costs of a person’s medical treatment and on whether they can receive care allowance for pensioners. Further, the change may affect the amount of national pension received by persons who now live in Finland but have in the past lived or worked in an EU or EEA country, Switzerland or the United Kingdom.

Parliament has approved a number of changes in the calculation formula for sickness and rehabilitation allowances. Following the changes, more recipients will have their allowances calculated at the lower earnings replacement rate. The allowances will be reduced by a little under EUR 13 on average. However, the allowances paid to recipients with the lowest incomes will remain unchanged. The new formula will also affect the amount of the partial sickness allowance.

Työnantajan päiväraha- ja korvauspalvelusta muodostettavissa Excel-tiedostoissa on havaittu seuraavat virhetilanteet: Excel-tiedostossa voidaan näyttää ainoastaan 1500 hakutulosta. Jos hakutuloksia tulee 1500, tulee haku tehdä lyhyemmällä aikarajauksella. Excel-tiedostoon ei välity tieto siitä, että annettu päätös on takaisinperintäpäätös. Päätös näytetään Excel-tiedostossa etuuden päätöksenä ilman takaisinperintä-tunnistetta. Takaisinperintäpäätökset ovat tällä hetkellä katsottavissa hakutuloksista. Takaisinperintäpäätökset tunnistaa siitä, että ratkaisun tilana näytetään Takaisinperintä. Pyrimme korjaamaan virhetilanteet mahdollisimman pian. Pahoittelemme häiriöstä aiheutuvaa haittaa. Beslutet visas som ett förmånsbeslut utan uppgift om att det är återkrav. För närvarande kan man se beslut om återkrav i sökresultaten.
