Kela publishes new benefit guide for people who have moved to Finland
Kela has published a new benefit guide in easy Finnish, easy Swedish and plain English for people who have moved to Finland. The English version of the guide is called Coming to Finland. Kela’s partner organisations can order copies of the guide on Kela’s website.
Kela’s new benefit guide Coming to Finland offers a general overview of when a person who has moved to Finland can get Kela benefits. The guide also tells readers how they can inform Kela that they are moving to Finland and apply for Kela benefits.
The new benefit guide replaces the previous benefit guide that covered both moving to Finland and leaving Finland for another country. The new and improved guide caters especially to the needs of people who intend to move or have moved to Finland. Information on what happens when you leave Finland to live in another country is still available in English on Kela’s website (kela.fi).
Kela’s benefit guides explain the basics of Kela benefits
Coming to Finland is a benefit guide written in plain English with a broad audience in mind. Kela’s benefit guides tell readers the basics of Kela benefits briefly and in plain language, but they do not go into much detail. The guides are specifically aimed at people who need easy-to-understand information about Kela benefits.
All Kela benefit guides are available in easy Finnish, easy Swedish and plain English. The guides contain basic information on the Kela benefits available in different life situations. For example, there are guides for families, students, people who are unemployed and pensioners.
Kela no longer automatically mails benefit guides to its partner organisations. Partner organisations can order printed benefit guides via Kela’s website free of charge. The guides are also available in PDF format on Kela’s website.
