Going forward, Kela’s partner organisations can sign documents such as different contracts with Kela electronically. This is made possible by Kela’s e-signature service from 12 February 2024 onwards.

Expansion to the substitution of biologic medicines will be phased in between 2024 and 2026.

The change is part of an EU reform to improve the exchange of health data and the quality of care in Europe. The use of patient data outside Finland requires that the patient has given their consent to do so in MyKanta.

One in ten boys aged 10 to 12 takes ADHD medication. There are significant regional differences, and the prevalence of ADHD medication use in Eastern Finland is already approaching 20% of all boys in that age group. There are also clear nationwide differences in medication use between boys born early in the year and boys born late in the year.

The price notifications of products that are included in generic substitution and the reference price system procedure must be reported to Kela no later than 21 days before the first day of each quarter.

If you are acting on behalf of another person, you need <a href="https://www.kela.fi/authorising-another-person"> a specific power of attorney</a> from that person and proof of your identity.</p><p>If you bring your online banking credentials or a mobile certificate, you can manage your Kela-related affairs on a self-service computer at the service point.</p><p>You are permitted to bring a guide dog, an assistance dog or a government working dog to a service point.</p>
