Rehabilitation and adaptation training courses for persons with rheumatism and psoriatic arthritis
Kela provides rehabilitation and adaptation training courses for adults suffering from rheumatic diseases and family courses for children and adolescents with inflammatory rheumatic diseases. The rehabilitation is multidisciplinary and group-based.
When participating in adaptation training for adults with rheumatism, you are provided with support to manage problems in your daily life and help to come to terms with your situation. The purpose of the rehabilitation services provided is to maintain and improve the clients’ ability to work, study and function, and to promote life management and self-care skills. At the course, you are also provided with information about your condition and about rehabilitation practices and support networks available in your area.
The rehabilitation course for persons with rheumatism provides life management support and advice on how to come to terms with the challenges caused by the illness as well as help with practical problems. A requirement for participating in the course is that you are motivated to take part in group-based rehabilitation.
At the family course for children and adolescents with inflammatory rheumatic disease the children and their families are provided with support to manage problems in their daily life and help to come to terms with their situation. The aim of the rehabilitation is to promote functional capacity, life management and self-care skills. At the course, the family is also provided with information about the condition from which the child is suffering and about rehabilitation practices and support networks available in their area.
