Do you have an illness or a disability that complicates your life?

  1. Talk to your doctor about your need for rehabilitation
    If the doctor thinks that you could benefit from rehabilitation, they will write a doctor’s statement recommending it for you.
  2. Learn more about rehabilitation service providers
    You get to choose the rehabilitation service provider yourself.
    Find a rehabilitation service provider (in Finnish). 
  3. Contact Kela to apply for rehabilitation
    Complete the application form and send it in the OmaKela e-service. Please note that our e-service is only available in Finnish and Swedish. After that, send any supporting documents in the OmaKela e-service.
  4. Apply for rehabilitation allowance or partial rehabilitation allowance
    If you have to take time off work to participate in rehabilitation and you are not paid a wage or salary during your absence, you can get rehabilitation allowance. If you work shorter hours due to participating in rehabilitation, you can apply for partial rehabilitation allowance.
