Compensation policy for Kela’s executive bodies
Kela’s Board, Parliamentary Trustees and Auditors are compensated for their services. No monetary compensation is paid to members of the advisory councils or of the forums.
Compensation of Kela’s Parliamentary Trustees
Monthly compensation:
- Chairperson, 617.33 euros per month
- Trustee, 493.87 euros per month
Compensation per meeting:
- Chairperson, 154.33 euros per meeting
- Trustee, 123.47 euros per meeting
The compensation amounts are defined in section 9 of the regulations for Kela’s Parliamentary Trustees. According to the regulations, the compensation shall be equal to one fifteenth of the annual compensation paid to Members of Parliament. The Parliamentary Trustees are paid one twelfth of the annual compensation monthly.
In addition to the compensation for Trustees, the Chairperson is paid a separate annual compensation equal to one fourth of the compensation for Trustees. One twelfth of the Chairperson’s annual remuneration is paid monthly.
The Chairperson, the Trustees and the alternate Trustees are paid a compensation for each meeting of the Parliamentary Trustees and of the Executive Committee. The per-meeting compensation is equal to one fourth of the monthly compensation
The compensation of Members of Parliament is governed by the Act of Parliament governing the salary of Members of Parliament (328/1947). The monthly compensation paid to Members of Parliament is specified in subsection 1 of this Act. The regulations of Kela’s Parliamentary Trustees are based on this Act.

Compensation of Kela’s Board members in the 20230–2025 term
Monthly compensation:
- Chairperson, 900 euros per month
- Member, 600 euros per month
Compensation per meeting:
- Chairperson, 300 euros per meeting
- Member, 300 euros per meeting
- Staff representative, 200 euros per meeting
The compensation is decided by Kela’s Parliamentary Trustees.
Compensation of Kela’s Auditors
Monthly compensation:
- Chairperson of the Auditors, 427.38 euros per month
- Auditor, 284.92 euros per month
Compensation per meeting:
- Chairperson and Auditors: 123.47 euros
The compensation is decided by Kela’s Parliamentary Trustees. The compensation for Auditors is equal to one twenty-sixth of the annual compensation paid to Members of Parliament. Besides the Auditor’s compensation, the Chairperson is paid an additional annual compensation equal to one half of the Auditor’s compensation. The Chairperson and the Auditors are paid monthly one twelfth of their annual compensation.
