What to do if you have lost your card

Kela card

You can apply for a new Kela card by calling our customer service number 020 634 2650 or by filing an application in the OmaKela e-service (available in Finnish and Swedish).

You can also apply for a new card with form SV 157e (PDF). Mail the form to the address Kela, PL 10, 00056 KELA.

No fee is charged for the renewal of the Kela card.

Kela photocards are no longer being renewed.

European Health Insurance Card

If you lose your European Health Insurance Card in Finland, call our customer service number 020 634 2650 or order a new card in the OmaKela e-service (available in Finnish and Swedish).

If you lose your card abroad, contact Kela’s Centre for International Affairs or our customer service number 020 634 2650 to get a temporary certificate to replace the card. You can also ask the health insurance institution of the country in which you are staying to obtain a replacement certificate from Kela.

Card for national pension recipients

You can apply for a card for pension recipients by calling our customer service number 020 634 2650 or by sending a message in the OmaKela e-service (available in Finnish and Swedish).

No fee is charged for the ordering of a new card.
