Remote interpreting means interpreting where the client and the interpreter are not in the same place physically and the interpreting is done over a remote connection. You can use remote interpreting if you have a right to interpreting services for the disabled and the situation where interpreter assistance is needed is such that the assistance can be provided remotely.
How to book remote interpreting
If you want remote interpreting for your assignment, you must inform the Centre for Interpreting Services for the Disabled about this when you book an interpreter.
Also indicate if you wish that a certain program is used for the remote interpreting.

Try to ensure that you are in a quiet and well-lit space.
To use remote interpreting, you must be comfortable using the appropriate equipment and software
You can use the video remote interpreter service for instance on your smartphone or tablet. If you do not have a suitable device, you can ask Kela to lend you one.
If you wish, you can get help with using the remote interpretation software. The interpreter will then provide guidance on how to use the program for remote interpreting. You can book guidance via the Centre for Interpreting Services for the Disabled.
