<p>The processing time displayed on the page is an average for the last seven days calculated on the basis of the time needed to process complete applications. Some applications will be processed faster than the average while others will take longer.</p>

<p> A longer-than-average processing time is often due to the application missing relevant information or documents which is requested from the applicant. The processing of the application can also take longer if Kela has to wait for information related to the processing of the application from abroad. Also, applications may take longer to process if a large number of applications are received over a short period of time.</p>

<p>Sivulla näytettävä käsittelyaika on keskiarvo, joka on laskettu edeltävän 7 päivän ajalta. Osa hakemuksista käsitellään jonkin verran keskiarvoa nopeammin ja osa hitaammin.</p>

<p>Keskimääräistä pidempi käsittelyaika johtuu usein siitä, että hakemuksesta on puuttunut tietoja tai liitteitä, ja niitä on pyydetty hakijalta. Käsittelyaika pidentyy myös silloin, kun Kela joutuu odottamaan hakemuksen käsittelyyn liittyviä tietoja ulkomailta. Lisäksi käsittely voi ruuhkautua, jos Kelaan tulee paljon hakemuksia kerralla.</p>

<h2>Handläggningstiden som visas är ett medeltal</h2>

<p>Handläggningstiden som visas på sidan är ett medeltal som har räknats på basis av handläggningen under de senaste 7 dagarna. En del ansökningar handläggs snabbare och en del långsammare än genomsnittet.</p>

<p>Om handläggningstiden är längre än genomsnittet beror det oftast på att det saknas uppgifter eller bilagor i ansökan, och FPA ber  att få dem. Handläggningstiden blir också längre när FPA måste vänta på uppgifter i samband med handläggningen av ansökan från utlandet. Det kan också bli kö i handläggningen om det kommer in väldigt många ansökningar på en gång.</p>

<p>Due to a technical problem, you cannot currently use this page to check application processing times. We are working to solve the problem as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience.</p>

<p>You can check the status of your own applications in the <a href="/e-services">OmaKela e-service (available in Finnish and Swedish)</a>. More general information on application processing times is available on the <a href="/target-times">page for the target times for processing benefit applications</a>.</p>

<p>Please note that <strong>Kela is currently taking longer than usual to process applications for student financial aid and the housing supplement for students</strong> due to recent changes in the housing benefits available for students. You may have to wait longer than usual to get a decision on your application. We are currently processing applications that arrived at Kela between 23 June and 3 August 2025.</p>

<h2>Käsittelyajat ovat toistaiseksi poissa käytöstä</h2>

<p>Tieto käsittelyajoista on poissa käytöstä teknisen vian vuoksi. Pyrimme korjaamaan vian mahdollisimman pian. Pahoittelemme häiriöstä aiheutuvaa haittaa.</p>

<p>Oman hakemuksesi tilanteen voit tarkistaa <a href="https://oma.kela.fi/">OmaKelasta</a>. Yleisempää tietoa hakemusten käsittelyajoista saat <a href="https://www.kela.fi/kasittelyn-tavoiteajat">Tavoiteajat-sivulta</a>.</p>

<p>Huomaathan, että <strong>opintotuen ja asumislisän hakemusten käsittelyajat</strong> <strong>ovat pidentyneet </strong>opiskelijoiden asumisen tuen muutoksen takia. Päätöstä hakemukseen voi joutua odottamaan tavallista pidempään. Käsittelemme parhaillaan viikoilla 26–31 saapuneita opintotuen hakemuksia.</p>

<p>Observera att <strong>handläggningstiderna för ansökan om studiestöd och bostadstillägg har förlängts</strong> på grund av ändringarna i stödet för boende för studerande. Beslut på ansökan kan dröja längre än vanligt. Vi handlägger för närvarande ansökningar som kommit in veckorna 26–31.</p>

If you are acting on behalf of another person, you need a specific power of attorney from that person and proof of your identity.</p><p>If you bring your online banking credentials or a mobile certificate, you can manage your Kela-related affairs on a self-service computer at the service point.</p><p>You are permitted to bring a guide dog, an assistance dog or a government working dog to a service point.</p>

Customer service points where service is provided by Kela’s employees. You can get personal advice in all Kela-related matters.
