Rates of reimbursement
You can be reimbursed for the medicines you purchase once you have met the initial deductible, which is €50 per calendar year.
You can only get a reimbursement for prescribed medicines, emollient creams and clinical nutrients which the Pharmaceuticals Pricing Board (Hila) has confirmed as reimbursable.
Prices and reimbursements
Look up the price and reimbursement status of your medicineGo to Service
The reimbursement is deducted from the price of the medicine at the pharmacy. If the medicine you are buying is not included in the reference price system, you cannot get a reimbursement for the part of the price that exceeds the reference price. Emollient creams and clinical nutrients do not belong to the reference system, which means that the reimbursement due to you is always calculated off the full price of the product. A dispensing fee of €2.39 is added to the price of the prescribed medicine at the pharmacy. If the medicine is reimbursable you will get a reimbursement also for the dispensing fee.
The below table lists the reimbursement categories by product group. For the product groups marked with an asterisk (*), reimbursements are available only to those who have been granted the entitlement to reimbursement by Kela.

If you reach the annual maximum on out-of-pocket costs, you can get an additional reimbursement for your medicine expenses.
